Trust is the new gold

“Trust is the new gold,” says Larry Prusak, an independent consultant who has co-authored 12 books and many articles. He currently teaches at Columbia University’s MS Program in Information and Knowledge Strategy.

In this Harvard Business Blog Network post, The One Thing That Makes Collaboration Work, Prusak states that trust tops the list. He outlines these five ways for a leader to generate trust in an organization:

1. Promote trustworthy people
2. Work with your own employees
3. Publicize the costs of distrust
4. Give people a reason beyond their pay to come to work
5. Reduce pay inequality
