The biggest swindle in history has destroyed trust and shattered lives. So many have suffered financially and emotionally. Called a “beast” and “monster,” one Bernie Madoff victim commented: “I don’t trust anyone anymore. He’s changed me as a person.” Ron Stein, author of the Madoff Help Web site, commented, “People need a reason to hope.”

In the post, Busted: The Trust of the Investment Statement, Stein stated: “The multitude of failures here is, frankly, beyond belief. The result will be doubt and distrust by investors regarding all but the most well-known financial firms at the expense of smaller firms that have worked diligently and ethically for years, not to mention heightened distrust of the financial industry as a whole, and the distrust of government to do its job.”
